4. Analytical tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses the features provided by Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". Cookies are text files that are stored on your computer. They make the analysis of your use of the website possible. The information created about your use of this website provided by the cookie are usually send to a Google server in the US and are stored there.

The storage of Google Analytics cookies happens on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behavior in order to optimize his offering as well as advertisements.

IP anonymizing

We have activated the IP anonymizing function on this website. This means your IP address is shortened by Google within one of the member states of the EU or other countries that are part of the agreement regarding the European economic area before it is transmitted to the US. Only in exceptional circumstances is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the US and then shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information to evaluate the use of the website in order to create reports about the website activities and to provide further services connected to the website usage as well as internet usage. The IP address of your browser transmitted as part of this process is not combined with other Google data by Google Analytics.

Browser plug-in

You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software; we point out though that in this case not all functions of this website might be used. Furthermore, you can prevent the collection of data regarding website usage created by the cookie (incl. your  IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in provided here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. This sets an opt-out cookie that prevents the collection of data during future visits of this website: Google Analytics deaktivieren.

5. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you would like to receive our newsletter, we need your email address as well as information that allows us to confirm that you are the owner of the provided email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is only collected on a voluntary basis. This data is used only for the sending of the requested information and is not shared with third parties.

The processing of data provided in the newsletter form happens on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can always revoke the consent regarding storage of your data, your email address and the use of your email address to send you the newsletter; for example by using the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legal basis for the data processing that already happened is not affected by this.

The data you provided in order to receive the newsletter is stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted when you unsubscribe. Data that we saved for other purposes (e.g., email addresses for the member area) is not affected by this.

MailChimp

This website uses the services of MailChimp in order to send the newsletter. The provider is the Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is  a service that organizes and analyzes the sending of newsletters. When you enter data to receive the newsletter (e.g., email address), it is stored on the MailChimp server in the US.

MailChimp possesses a certificate according to the “EU-US-Privacy-Shield”. The “Privacy-Shield” is a convention between the EU and the US that should ensure the compliance of European data protection standards in the US.

By using MailChimp, we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. If you open an email sent by MailChimp, a file contained in the email (a so-called web beacon) connects with the MailChimp server in the US. This allows for a detection of whether a newsletter message is opened, which links are clicked on, etc. Furthermore, other technical data is collected at this point (e.g., time of access, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be attributed to the respective newsletter recipient. It is only used for the analysis of the newsletter campaign. The results of this analysis can be used to adapt future newsletter campaigns to the recipients.

If you don't want any analysis by MailChimp, you have to unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this, we create an appropriate link in every newsletter message. Furthermore, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.

Data processing happens on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can always revoke this consent by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legal basis for the data processing that already happened is not affected by this.

The data stored for the receipt of the newsletter will be saved until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted upon unsubscribing from the newsletter on our servers as well as the MailChimp servers. Data that was saved for other purposes by us (e.g.,email addresses for the member area) is not affected by this.

You can find more information in the privacy policy of MailChimp at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

Data processing agreements

We have a so-called „data processing agreement“ with MailChimp, in which we oblige MailChimp to protect the data of our clients and to not give it to third parties. This contract can be read here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement/sample-agreement/.

We use Google Maps in order to display our online offering in an appealing way and to allow for the locations we mention on the website to be easily found. This constitutes a legitimate interest as per Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
